The Gentry Family
Korea 2003

We traveled to Korea to adopt our 5 ½ year old daughter Emma Grace Sun Young Gentry from the Amsa Rehabilitation Center. The orphanage was very clean, organized and well run. The children are cared for by loving care nurses and therapists. We were able to spend much more time with Emma at her orphanage than we expected, which was wonderful.

I traveled with my 7 year old daughter and we were deeply touched by the way people doted on her and Emma. Everyone was wonderful. Emma was completely overjoyed knowing she was becoming a part of our family. She had waited for so long for a family and knowing her entire life was about to change was amazing.

She was shy initially, but warmed up quickly. She was very well prepared, knew all of her siblings' names and was eager to go to America. She has integrated remarkably well. She has a very adventurous, joyful spirit, which we feel helped tremendously.

Emma is doing very well. She understands most of what we say and is speaking well. She is receiving PT, OT, Speech, adaptive PE and ESL recourses and is doing great. We are so grateful to A Child Waits Foundation for their assistance in our adoption. Emma waited a very long time for a family. Thank you so much.
