The Goad Family
Russia 2002
We adopted Julia and Ruslan from Russia in 2002. We were so happy and excited when we finally got to meet the children in person. They ran to us smiling and with open arms. The orphanage was adequate although the outside playground wasn't great. There was a music room, game room with TV and a playroom. The also had some animals, a kitten and turtle. The workers at the orphanage were very kind and were impressed that we tried to communicate with them in Russian. Julia and Ruslan are doing beautifully. Their English is very good; they are good students in school and well behaved. They have a great and loving relationship with their grandparents and cousins. The children are great and they are growing very quickly. They are also very thrilled about the upcoming birth (this summer) of their little brother or sister
