Dear Friend in Christ,
My
husband Jeff and I would like to express our sincere gratitude in your help with
our adoption. You certainly helped to make it possible to adopt our third child
Abigail Jo. Without your help, we simply would not have been able to afford her
adoption. We would like to share our story with you and thank you for making Abby's
adoption possible.
In May 2001 we saw a picture of
Jacob on a photo listing. We immediately fell in love with this precious 14-month
old little boy and decided to find out more about him. To our delight, Focus On
Children was the adoption agency that was placing this child. I had corresponded
with Dellory Matthews for almost one year and she was extremely helpful and patient
as we learned much about the adoption process. We immediately decided to adopt
Jacob and began the wait to bring him home, which would be almost exactly one
year. Meanwhile, we had recently contracted with a domestic placement agency and
expected to wait several years for a baby. Much to our excitement, we were chosen
by a birthmother to adopt her newborn boy within a week of sending in our Bulgarian
dossier for Jacob. What an exciting week! Luke was born on June 26, 2001 and we
flew to California for his birth. We arrived just in time to be in the delivery
room and even got to cut his umbilical cord! He has been such a blessing during
this past year. Our family has so much love for this little angel who is the "first"
grandchild.
As we have anxiously awaited
Jacobs's arrival we have received pictures and videos of our precious child. Another
great surprise happened in December 2001. We discovered that Jacob has a baby
sister who is in the same orphanage, and the director asked if we wanted to adopt
her as well! Of course we did, but the expenses for three adoptions were simply
more than we could afford. Thanks to you, we are able to adopt Abby as well and
add this precious child to our Christian home. We are so excited to have this
precious little girl enter our lives!
Tomorrow
we leave for Varna, Bulgaria to bring Jacob home and to visit Abby for several
days. Hopefully, we can bring her home in August or sooner. We are so excited
about meeting and spending time with our children! Our family has been extremely
supportive and has so much love to share with our three angel babies.

children are a gift from God, after experiencing infertility, Jeff and I happily
turned to adoption to add children to our home. They will certainty bless us more
than we can ever imagine. We are so thankful for your help in making us a family.
