Grant Program Statistics

Older and Special Needs Adoption

We have helped families to adopt more than 817 children through our loan and grant programs. Approximately 70% of our families have received grants and the remaining thirty percent were helped through our loan program.

• Children who are adopted with assistance from our grant program are:
  • healthy older - 38%
  • special needs - 44%
  • both - 18%

• A slightly larger percentage of girls were adopted through our programs:
  • girls - 54%
  • boys - 46%

• The ages of the healthy older child helped by a grant are:
  • ages 5 through 8 - 32%
  • ages 9 through 12 - 45%
  • ages 13 through 17 - 23%

   

• The special needs of the children vary and include:
  • missing digits and/or limbs
  • heart defect/disease
• scoliosis and spina bifida
• hep B and C
• auditory or vision impairment
• club feet and deformities of extremities
• burn victims

By providing grants for these children we are helping to give them a brighter future in the homes of families who love them and provide them with the care they need to be the best that they can be.
