Outcome and Statistics
In 2018 we awarded grants to 183 families, which resulted in the adoption of 225 children!
These children came home from 21 different countries including: Albania, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Haiti, Hungary, India, Japan, Kyrgystan, Liberia, Nigeria, Romania, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Korea, Tonga, Uganda and Ukraine.
Because we are committed to helping as many children as possible come home,
we provide grants to a high percent of qualified families.

Factors that make A Child Waits Foundation Different
If families are paid in full with their agency, we have the flexibility of sending the grant directly to the family. In most cases, funds will be dispersed when a family is ready to travel to bring their child home and can be used for final travel expenses. In adoptions where there is a lengthy in-country stay, or a country where adoptions are infrequent and the time line is uncertain, we may delay sending the grant award until we are sure the adoption is complete and the family is home or ready to return home with their child.
Personal Attention a Phone Call Away
We strongly believe that every family that contacts us should be able to receive prompt and timely answers to their questions and concerns and our staff are available to talk with and to respond to emails every week day. Much of our time is spent giving each family the personal attention they need as they move through the steps of our application process and their adoption.
