Dear A Child Waits Foundation,
We came home with our two newest daughters from China and it is wonderful to be a family of six!
The journey of adoption is frequently wonderful, exciting, and full of emotions. It also has many facets, such as the paperwork and financial mountains, which are sometimes overwhelming and daunting. Even upon arriving home, we are overwhelmed with both joy and stress as the medical attention they need is also addressed.
For their medical needs, we have health insurance to help. But there is no insurance when you adopt. It is similar to giving birth without any insurance -you pay all expenses in full. This is a mountain we could not move on our own, but because of generous donors and foundations like A Child Waits Foundation the financial burden was lessened for our family so we can focus on meeting the needs of our two newest daughters.
God has truly blessed us and has provided what we needed exactly when we needed it. It may not have been on our time schedule, but perfect in His timing. When we look back at our journey we can clearly see God’s blessing on every step of the way. We are humbled by what God has done. When we decided as a couple to move forward and declare, “Yes we will parent these children” God provided for all the details. As Ephesians 3:20-21 says, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
For each adoption that our family has undergone, there has been a verse that speaks to us about the unique process. We reflected on Isaiah 49:16 for this adoption, “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.” What great comfort there is to know that our loving heavenly Father has our names engraved on the palms of His hands! Even before we were formed, he knew our name; before our children were adopted, their heavenly Father knew their names. He knows the names they were whispered by their birth mother, he knows the names their caregivers call them by, and he knows the names we are giving them. He not only knows them but has them personally engraved upon his palms, as their Savior God. What joyous comfort there is in that!
We thank you with deep gratitude for standing beside us with prayers and financial support as we brought our two precious miracles home.
