In 2025 we awarded grants to help 135 children to be adopted from 17 different countries and 28 states in the USA. Some of their wonderful pictures and adoption experiences are recounted below in the family's own words.
Dean - Bulgaria
Dean is home!
Upon landing in the U.S., Dean had a short five-day hospital stay to ensure he was handling the increased nutrition well. He got to see every specialist, and we discovered a few new diagnoses but nothing devastating.
He handled it all so well. He is doing great at home too. He loves all the tickles and snuggles from his sisters. On 11/12 we celebrated his 7th birthday. It was a huge answer to prayer to have home in time for his birthday. Since 11/1 he has gained five pounds! Thank you A Child Waits Foundation for your help in bringing him home.

Anderson & Zoe - Uganda
They are HOME!!!!
Tuesday afternoon they landed an hour early in Boston and I made it to the Arrivals doors less than 5 minutes before they walked through it! What a moment that was! Something we've been waiting for, for 10+ years!
They are so happy to be here and are settling in well and enjoying getting reacquainted with our two oldest (who spent 10 months with me in Uganda) and they're doing great with our two youngest. If you can believe it, they LOVE the snow!

Benjamin - Uganda
We are so thankful that everything is now finalized and as of December 20, 2025 our family is living in the U.S. again!
In July 2025, we attended court in Kampala, Uganda, and in August 2025, the judge granted our ruling. In September we received Benjamin’s passport and applied for his U.S. immigration. In November, the U.S. Embassy in Uganda began contacting us and we had interviews and appointments for most of early-mid December. It was quite the whirlwind, but we were so happy to be able to spend a wonderful Christmas introducing Benjamin in the U.S. to all his extended family members!
Benjamin is adjusting very well so far - he tells us that he really likes America, especially the nice roads and yummy food! One thing he’s not a huge fan of is the cold weather. He often requests his hat, jacket, and socks to wear inside (who can blame him?) and he misses playing outside for long periods of time during the day. On the bright side, Missouri is having a milder winter so far, with temperatures lately being mid 40s-60s and spots of green grass. We like to go on walks around the neighborhood if we’re not busy on a sunny afternoon.
Our family is so incredibly grateful for the grant that A Child Waits Foundation provided to help make Benjamin’s adoption possible. We are deeply appreciative to the people who donated to your organization and to the people who reviewed our application.
