In 2026 we continue to award grants to help children to be adopted. Some of these families are represented below:
Hudson - Louisiana
Ever since we started talking about having children over a decade ago, we have always planned for adoption to be part of our story. Going back to Elementary school, Hannah knew she wanted to adopt when she grew up. When she was a teenager, she volunteered at an orphanage and crisis pregnancy center and through her experiences developed a strong pull towards adopting. Our biological son was born in 2017 and shortly after he was born, we decided we wanted to pursue adoption for our next child. Due to life circumstances, we weren't able to start the adoption process until years later, in 2024.
We were so excited to get to finally start this process after talking and thinking about it for so long!
We completed our adoption application in the summer of 2024 and over the next year we learned the discipline of eagerly waiting for something we had no control over. We had our family profile shown to several new mothers and each time we weren't matched, it was incredibly disappointing. We trusted that the child we were meant to parent would be matched with us when the time was right.
In October of 2025, we got a call on a Thursday that a couple with a 22-month-old boy was looking at families to adopt their son. We were asked if we wanted our profile shown and we said yes! We then got a call the next day to say that our family was chosen as adoptive parents! We were so thrilled, excited, and incredibly nervous. It was an answer to our prayers and we were so excited to meet our new son.
The following Monday, Hudson was placed with our family and we began our lives as a family of four. Over the last 7 months we have been so blessed to have gotten to be his parents and it has been an incredible joy to have him in our family. He has a big personality and is so much fun to be around and to watch him learn new things and gain confidence in so many areas. We want to sincerely thank A Child Waits Foundation for the generous grant they gave our family to assist with our adoption. It has been instrumental in welcoming Hudson into our family and helping with expenses. Your organization will have a special place in our hearts and we are so thankful for your generosity.
Philip John - Massachusetts
I write with a heart full of gratitude to thank A Child Waits Foundation for the incredible role you have played in completing our family. Your generosity did more than provide financial assistance; it affirmed a calling, strengthened my faith, and
secured a forever home for a precious child. A promise of God fulfilled.
In 2019, I became a mother through single-parent adoption when I welcomed my son Ryder into my life. From the beginning, we have often said, “We are a crew of two, with the power of God backing us.” That truth carried us through challenges I never could have imagined. Ryder was later diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Autism, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder, but through faith, consistency, and unconditional love, our home became a place of peace and healing. I rearranged my entire life to work from home and homeschool him, and today, at six years old, Ryder is thriving: joyful, curious, and secure.
Earlier this year, God placed another child on my heart. A baby in our extended family faced an uncertain future, and as conversations swirled about abandonment and “waiting to see,” I felt a deep, undeniable pull. I knew this was a life worthy of stability, dignity, and love. After much prayer, the answer came not with fear, but with peace.
In June, little Philip John entered the world six weeks early: tiny, strong, and full of promise. His arrival felt sudden to many, but to me it was a reminder that God’s timing is always perfect. With very little time to prepare, I stepped forward in faith, trusting that provision would follow obedience. A child Waits; became a tangible answer to prayer. Your grant lifted a burden I could not have carried alone, and allowed me to move forward with confidence to finalize Philip’s adoption. Because of you, Philip is not just safe; he is home. He is legally, permanently, and lovingly a part of our family; growing and thriving alongside his big brother.
As a single mother building a home and raising two boys with intentionality and faith, I cannot fully express what your support has meant to us. You didn’t just help finalize paperwork; you helped write a redemption story. You stood in the gap for a child who needed someone to say “yes,” and for a family built not by circumstance, but by love. Thank you for believing in families like mine. Thank you for choosing hope. Thank you for helping turn faith into forever.
Journee - Louisiana
On behalf of our entire family, we extend our most heartfelt and sincere gratitude for the generous adoption grant awarded to us by A Child Waits Foundation. This gift means far more to us than we can adequately express in words,
and we are deeply moved by your generosity and the trust you have placed in our family.
Our adoption journey has been one of profound love, deep sacrifice, and unwavering commitment. It has also been one of considerable financial challenge. Between the heartbreaking loss of funds to a prior agency, the beautiful investment in bringing our daughter Savannah home, and now the costs of welcoming our second child, Journee, the financial weight has been significant. Your grant comes at a moment of true need, and it will directly help us complete this adoption and the financial obligation to proceed towards finalization.
Both children have transformed our lives in ways we never could have imagined. They have brought laughter, wonder, and a love so profound it has touched everyone in our extended family. Both girls are the living reminder of why adoption matters — why it is worth every hardship, every setback, and every sacrifice. We believe with every part of ourselves that every child deserves a stable, loving home, and we are honored to be the family for not one, but two children who will be cherished, celebrated, and given every opportunity to thrive.
We are firm believers in the mission of A Child Waits Foundation. The work you do — connecting children with loving families and supporting families like ours through the financial burdens of adoption — is nothing short of life-changing. You are not simply funding adoptions; you are building families, shaping futures, and giving children the foundation they need to become who they are meant to be. We are proud to be part of the community of families you have supported, and we will carry your generosity with us always.

Sadie - Mississippi
We would like to say THANK YOU to A Child Waits Foundation for the very generous grant that we were awarded! Because of your blessing, we were able to complete the financial obligation of our adoption process, which was “the light at the end of the tunnel” and freed us up to enjoy this precious time in our lives. We are eternally grateful and are humbled by your generosity.
We are beyond blessed to have been able to adopt our daughter Sadie! We have always dreamed about being parents but struggled with infertility for years, including the miscarriage of our daughter, Annie. Through intentional time and prayer, we came to the conclusion that we were called to adopt and began the process in June 2024. We were matched a year later in June, and our precious angel was born on November 22nd. We have been soaking up all our sweet Sadie snuggles since! Thank you, Jesus, for your faithfulness, timing and organizations like A Child Waits Foundation!
Amelia - Delaware
For as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of becoming a mother. That dream has always been a steady, guiding light in my life. In 2018, I began pursuing that dream through fertility treatments. I went through multiple rounds of IUI without success and then moved on to IVF, which also ended in heartbreak. I later learned I have PCOS, and
the path forward would be more difficult than I had hoped.
After taking time to heal, I tried again; this time through embryo adoption. For 27 weeks, I carried my son, Isaiah, believing my dream was finally coming true. In May of 2022, I experienced the unimaginable loss of Isaiah. Becoming his mother, even for that brief time, changed me forever, and his memory continues to shape my journey. Through every step, I have walked this path on my own. It has been emotionally and financially challenging, but my desire to become a mother has never wavered. That path ultimately led me to adoption.
On March 11, 2026, I received the call that I had been matched with a baby girl in Delaware. I was placed with Amelia Rose on March 13, 2026, and since then, I have been by her side caring for her, learning her needs, and beginning to build our bond. Throughout this journey, the support I have received has meant everything. The grant from A Child Waits Foundation was incredibly helpful in allowing me to continue moving forward with Amelia’s adoption. Their support played a meaningful role in turning what once felt impossible into reality. My story is one of love, loss, resilience, and hope. It is the story of a dream that never faded, even through heartbreak, and of a little girl who is already so deeply loved.
August - Texas
Thank you for all of your help and for A Child Waits Foundation's generous grant assistance in our adoption process. August (Gus) was born on February 28th, 2026. He has bilateral hearing loss, and we are in the process of getting him set up with hearing aids. He loves whales and always picks the whale card out of his high contrast card set when we look at them during tummy time. Bath time is a big hit as well, and we are looking forward to trying swimming soon. He is so strong! He rolled over at only 11 days old and has done it multiple times since, even though coordination is still something he's figuring out. He is best friends with our mini dachshund, who has followed him everywhere from the minute we brought him home. They cuddle together and she is currently trying to teach him to play ball (he has a long way to go on that one).
We have a very open relationship with Gus' birth mom, and we proudly talk to him about his three moms. We accepted Gus' case with no medical information, as his mom had no prenatal care due to lack of insurance. She ended up giving birth on her kitchen floor in rural west Texas. Grandma caught him! Due to some past complications and challenges, Gus' mom is not able to parent him and if she had not chosen adoption, Gus would very likely have ended up in foster care. Choosing adoption allowed her to stay in his life in a meaningful way while also allowing him to grow up in a stable and supportive environment where he can get the best care possible for his needs. We really feel like everybody won because of this outcome, at least to the degree that a winning outcome was possible for everyone.
Gus has been through a number of audiology appointments already and has another one coming up. We will also be working with a local organization called Sunshine Cottage, which works with newborns through 4th graders with hearing loss. We feel incredibly lucky to have such a resource so nearby. The support from A Child Waits is instrumental in allowing us to access this support. We emptied our savings to finance the adoption. We had enough left in our savings to finish the post-placement supervision, with a little extra padding for emergencies. This grant will allow us to replenish some of our savings so we know we can handle whatever medical expenses or hearing aids Gus needs without having to go into debt. We really feel like the stars aligned and so many people came together to help us give our son the life he deserves.
If we can give back to the foundation through the use of our story, pictures, or any other testimony, we are happy to do so. Thank you again!
Evren - Indiana
We are so thankful for the support we received from A Child Waits Foundation during our son Evren's adoption. That support allowed us to direct our full attention, energy, and resources toward Evren during this pivotal time. It also gave us the space to build a truly special, collaborative relationship with Evren's birth parents from the very beginning. We believe that the more strong, loving relationships surround him, the better, and thanks to this support, Evren began his life with an entire team of people wholeheartedly in his corner. We are endlessly grateful for the role A Child Waits played in making that possible.
